Sim Cards for your Mobile Phone

Our staff can arrange a visa for you at a nominal cost if you give us advance notice. We will need a copy of your passport and a recent photo for the visa application.

Phone Calls

Avoid making phone calls from hotels unless it is urgent due to their expensive rates. Additionally, using international sim cards can rack up high roaming charges. To avoid these charges, you can direct the driver to find a phone booth in most cities in India. As an alternative, we can provide you with a local SIM card for a nominal fee.

Internet / WIFI

If you need internet access while staying in a hotel, it is usually more economical to use a nearby cyber cafe or arrange for a data card at a nominal cost. Please give us one day's notice in order to make the necessary arrangements.

Currency Exchange

It is illegal and dangerous to obtain foreign currency by any means other than banks, authorised bureaux de changes, or Hotels. ATMs are generally available in most major cities and towns. For your convenience, if you need to exchange foreign currency for an amount of more than $500, we can arrange for authorised currency exchange at a good rate. However, it is advisable to avoid exchanging money at hotels, as they do not provide very favourable rates. Additionally, one should always refuse torn notes. No matter what time you arrive in India, there will always be an exchange office open at the airport, although the rate may not be very attractive.

Credit Cards

Large businesses, such as hotels, stores, and airlines, usually accept major credit cards. However, it is wise to confirm beforehand, as hotels may refuse to take credit cards in some locations.

ATMS & Cash Machines

Cash machines and ATM's are not as easily accessible in villages and small towns as they are in bigger cities in India.

What to eat or drink

If you visiting India for the first time. You don't have to avoid all street food, but it's best to stick to peeled fresh fruit and foods that have been cooked through either boiling or frying. To be extra careful, only drink bottled water and avoid salads or ice.

Don't be too precious about your personal space

In India, the concept of personal space is not widely embraced. When travelling on public transportation or taking an elevator, you may experience close proximity to others. Be aware that locals may ask what may seem like intrusive questions; these are simply a sign of their politeness and curiosity about you. Respect the culture and understand that such questions are not meant to be intimidating.

Photography

Taking photographs or videos in monuments is generally allowed, though it is wise to check with your guide first. Camera and video camera charges may be applicable at many monuments, and the fees for these are not included in the entrance ticket. In some monuments, such as the QutabMinar in Delhi, the use of tripods may be restricted.

Dialing 100 from any city in India will put you in contact with the police.

Security of Personal Belongings

When moving out, keep it simple. Bring only the necessities, such as important documents and documents related to your travel. Avoid carrying large amounts of cash. If you need to, you can even sew a pocket into your clothing to store items like your passport, credit cards, and traveler's checks. Additionally, try to leave behind bulky items, expensive items, and excessive edible items.
